From May 22 to 24, Vila Pouca de Aguiar will host the III Pilgrim Forum, an annual gathering promoted by the Portuguese Federation of Saint James Way, bringing together various stakeholders involved in Jacobean pilgrimage. The event will take place at the historic Casino of Pedras Salgadas and the auditorium of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia, welcoming representatives from pilgrim associations, municipalities, religious entities, tourism operators, security forces, cultural and tourism authorities, volunteers, and the general public.
The goal is to create a space for sharing, training, and strategic reflection on the development of the Portuguese pilgrimage routes. The programme includes round tables, presentations by national and international speakers, training sessions for professionals who work directly with pilgrims, cultural moments, experience sharing, and the awarding of the Jacobean Hospitality Seal. On the final day, a walk along the local section of the Interior Route is planned, with visits to the pilgrim hostels of Parada de Aguiar and Sabroso de Aguiar.
Rádio Clube Aguiarense will broadcast and cover the main moments of the event, which is free to attend but requires prior registration, limited to the venue’s capacity.
