Lousada hosts conference on the Camino as a path of diversity

“Caminho de Santiago – Via de Diversidade” (Camino de Santiago – Path of Diversity) is the theme of the conference taking place this Friday, April 10, in Lousada, with the support of the Rota do Românico (Romanesque Route). The session is part of the 5th Gerson Moura Conference Cycle and will be held at the Romanesque Interpretation Centre at 9:00 pm, with free admission.

The event examines pilgrimage through the variety of experiences associated with it, considering the different routes, the motivations of pilgrims, and the profiles of pilgrims travelling to Compostela, placing it within cultural, religious, and tourism dimensions.

The debate is structured by areas. Rosário Correia Machado, director of the Rota do Românico, addresses the preservation of historic routes; António Augusto Silva, councillor at Lousada City Council, focuses on local impact and municipal action, and António Filipe Barbosa, director of Colégios Católicos (Catholic Schools), introduces the spiritual and educational dimension.

Vidas em Cena, based in Lousada, develops cultural initiatives and debates open to the community. The Gerson Moura cycle is part of that work and brings together different speakers to address current social, cultural, and political topics.
