The Associação Espaço Jacobeus (Jacobean Association, hereinafter AEJ) will open a new branch in Marco de Canaveses on February 7, in an initiative that brings together members and pilgrims and marks the creation of this new local unit.
The morning program begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Parish of Santa Marinha de Fornos, next to the Church of Santa Maria, with the reception of participants and registration. This moment includes a photographic exhibition dedicated to the Camino de Santiago. After registration, there will be a presentation by the Association’s National Board, followed by the presentation of the new branch by the local delegate.
At 11:00 a.m., a Mass will be celebrated by the Archpriest and Parish Priest, Father Hermínio Bernardo Rodrigues Pinto, during which the new branch and the pilgrims will be blessed. Before lunch, participants will have the opportunity to visit the church designed by architect Siza Vieira.
The social lunch will take place at 1:00 p.m. and requires prior registration by January 30. The cost is €22.50 for members with fees up to date and €27.50 for non-members. Payment must be made by bank transfer to IBAN PT50 0035 0721 0001 7934 33078, and proof of payment should be sent to tesouraria@aej.pt, indicating the full name or membership number.
