Famalicão promotes special session for Pilgrims
Next Saturday, July 26, at 6:30 p.m., the Associação Espaço Jacobeus (pilgrim Catholic association, hereafter AEJ) will host the session Falando e Andando – O Peregrino de Santiago na senda de Vila Nova de Famalicão (“Speaking and Walking – The Santiago Pilgrim on the path of Vila Nova de Famalicão”), at the Church of Santiago de Antas.
The aim of this initiative is to highlight the experience of pilgrims passing through Famalicão, by creating a space for direct sharing. At the same time, it seeks to offer useful information and practical advice to those preparing to walk the Camino de Santiago. The session is free of charge and open to the general public.
Confirmed speakers include podiatrist Francisco Freitas, nutritionist Ana Monteiro, the Grupo de Caminheiros de Montanha (mountain hiking group) – Grucamo, and businessman Carlos Maia, from CMSocks. The session will be moderated by AEJ and the presentations will cover various aspects of the pilgrimage, from foot care and nutrition to physical preparation and recommended equipment.
The session is intended for experienced and first-time pilgrims alike, but also for curious visitors and local residents who wish to learn more about the Camino and what it means to take part in this historic route.
