On December 5, 2024, at 9:00 PM, the exhibition venue Passado, Presente & Futuro<\/em> (Past, Present & Future), in Felgueiras, will open the temporary exhibition “Ecos do Caminho de Santiago<\/em>” (“Echoes of the Camino de Santiago”)<\/strong>, a creation by sculptor V\u00edtor Machado. This exhibition, which will run until March 5, 2025, blends contemporary art with tradition, celebrating the essence and cultural and spiritual legacy of the Camino.<\/em><\/p>\n

The exhibition features sculptures that evoke the moments and emotions experienced by pilgrims on their journey to Santiago de Compostela<\/em>. These works, created from recycled materials such as pebbles collected on the coast of Esposende<\/em> and reused metallic elements, reflect the challenges, discoveries, and bonds formed along the way. Each piece is a visual narrative, symbolizing the passage of time, represented by the pebbles, and the significant experiences of the journey, conveyed through metals of varying shapes and textures.<\/p>\n

The opening event includes a short discussion dedicated to the Camino<\/em>, with a special focus on the Torres<\/em> Route. Pedro Gil, writer and documentarian, and V\u00edtor Machado himself will share their perspectives on the pilgrimage and the exhibited works.<\/strong> After the discussion, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition guided by the artist, delving into the stories and symbolism of each piece.<\/p>\n

Housed in a historic building, the exhibition venue Passado, Presente & Futuro<\/em>, located at Rua Costa Guimar\u00e3es, is a journey through the history of Felgueiras, spanning from Prehistory to the present day. With three floors dedicated to preserving archaeological, documentary, and material heritage, the space blends tradition with innovation, using modern technologies to offer a unique perspective on the identity of this municipality.
